Data Protection Regulation

In a team of 4, we worked with PrivacyCheq, a company dedicated to implementing data protection regulation in response to the enactment of GDPR in May 2018. Our journey involved intensive user experience evaluations, meticulous tests, and creating compelling mockups and designs, culminating in a working prototype approved by PrivacyCheq.

Original Designs

When tasked with designing the interface, our sole requirement was to craft a user-friendly site that educates users about their privacy rights and communicates the responsible collection of user data through cookies.

With the 4 months dedicated to this project, the team employed a variety of UX methodologies to solve the task. We began with stakeholder identification to brainstorm diverse user personas for this GDPR-compliant site, enabling us to focus on specific needs and potential challenges in the redesign process. A comprehensive literature analysis was conducted to delve into the intricacies of GDPR, providing a contextual understanding of the company we were working for, PrivacyCheq and the provisions and impact of GDPR.

A competitive analysis was conducted to benchmark PrivacyCheq against other privacy technology software companies. We delved into a heuristic usability evaluation to uncover areas for improvement in the existing model. Transitioning to the redesign phase, we employed UX tactics, such as storyboards, paper prototypes, wireframes and user workflows. Usability testing ensured the functionality of our design, culminating in the development of an effective, user friendly prototype.
